| Video night? |

I always schedule a video night for the end of the year for the Adult Ed classes. I have suggested to the Guildford class (which is run through the Uni Sports Centre) that a video party might be interesting & entertaining, but explained that my house would probably fit in the dance studio we use, three times over, and that my tv is tiny, and therefore that if anyone with a reasonably sized living room and tv screen was willing to host it, we could have a nice social night, and they could see some of my ridiculously large collection of videos & dvds.
I'm not sure whether anyone will take up the idea, but I have at least put it Out There.]
Quite apart from it being a nice social bonding occasion, it would be a chance for them to see some different dancers, rather than just me, and see what different styles there are and what they like... I learn so much about what my students see, when we have video sessions. I'm always amazed at how observant they are, and how educated their tastes are. I think back to what I was like at the equivalent stage in my dance development, and I feel sure that I wasn't so discerning when I was a Newbie-Know-Nothing. |
