Moar beading news

I've finished the beading on the belt, as far as I can, until the pear-shaped stones arrive.

I can't do any more on the bra until they arrive.

I've started adding the big sequins to the dress- working on the sleeve right now. The extra beading definitely adds to the weight of the sleeve. Once I started working on this, I realised I couldn't add the long strings of beads, they'll get in the way and get tangled. It's interesting how you have to adapt your ideas when you start working on the piece in practice.

Personally I love the organic process of making a costume - the idea of it, the construction, the beggaring about with the fit and then the decoration element that changes as you try it one and realise it doesn't work so you tweak and change - and suddenly you have something unique.....

I just wanted to say thanks for the link! I ended up sharing it with two of my gals who are both working on making new costumes sets. The photos of how you did the rutching on the bra is going to be a huge help to both of them!
