Costume Storage Bag

This is my first attempt, at a drawstring bag. Except I haven't got any ribbon for the drawstring yet, I'll be getting some this afternoon, and will update with a photo of the finished article.

In the meantime, here is the bag:

And here is the nice neat French Seam, of which I am quite proud:

I'm hoping that I can get ok at making these, because I'd really quite like to have a few nice costume storage bags rather than the mangy old plastic bags that currently house my various costumes! Nice cotton bags HAVE to be better than plastic, surely?!

The plan is to make a smaller matching bag, to keep the accessories in.

I'm also viewing this as a useful way of using up my fabric stash. I was just putting away the new additions to the suitcase where I keep all the stash, and it's far too much! It needs using.

ETA:
The finished finished Costume Bag

And a Costume artistically arranged in the Costume Bag:

I'm still inordinately happy with it!

What a great idea! I store a lot of my costumes in plastic bins with lids, but they're not terribly portable. The cotton bag idea is genius!

Love the fabric too.
