Baby Pink Skirt Set - The Story So Far

Time to put the sewing away for the day. So here are the photos.

First of all, here's a close up of the gorgeous beaded chiffon that nikkiraqs sent me. I'm sure she's regretting that giveaway *right now*, because it's worked out Fab. U. Luss!

Here is the on-body shot of the skirt, taken by me stretching my arm as far away from myself as possible, while still holding the camera at an angle which permits me to avoid photographing *all* the mess!

And the off-body shot.

And Woez! The headband is turning into a Fahtiem Sausage! I think I will have to take out some of that wadding. It's only pinned at the moment, so no worries, but I thought it might amuse people to see!
Eeep! A Fahtiem Sausage headband!

I am also planning a pair of fouffy sleeves (if you remember my Big Pink Fouffe Fifi costume, a bit like that but not quite so extreme![*]). I need to work out my dimensions. Obviously they'll be made out of the beaded chiffon.

I'm hoping the pale pink seed beads I ordered before the weekend turn up in tomorrow's post, so that I can get on with the decoration for this baby. Didja see what I did there? Baby! Sometimes I kill myself...

ETA - I'm rethinking the fouffy sleeves idea. I was draping that chiffon around my arm to see how it would work, and all of a sudden I was thinking "Arm drapes!" and I was trying to work out how much of the baby pink lycra I've got left to make the top of the drapes with... I could do both, of course :)

[*] Actually, they might be very nearly as extreme!

Love it! If you ever start sewing for other people who are not your students, please put me in line!

Skirt and sleeves, that is. I don't think I can pulls off the Cats eye makeup that sausage would require. ;)

Whoot! Yes the dark pink sequinned and the chiffon were sent to me by the lovely Mizmarti, rather than let them sit on a box until I learn to sew I thought I would send them to you as your need was greater!

Great job on the skirt!

Ooh! Pretty!

Do you tan? Because this colour would look particularly nice with a bit of summer colour.

In England?

Yes, it would look lovely with a tan. But it also looks lovely with my rather pasty sun-deprived skin!

LOL sometimes it happens! I just wondered, with your colouring, whether you might tan well.

It looks fabulous full stop.

I always used to tan well as a kid, and when I get the chance to get the body out, it does take colour reasonably well.

This is the right sort of pink, very slightly blue-ish, rather than peachy, so it works with my sallow tones.

And thank you!
