The beading pattern has been confirmed

I was messing about a bit with the beading, to try & work out how I was going to add the big coin sequin dangles.

I did the first version yesterday, before I went out with my uni mates. To be honest, I should have known that it wasn't going to look quite right. It was a shortcut version of how I saw the beading in my head, adding the dangles as I was going along with the second row of sequins. It messed up the way the beads "leaned", and lost the diagonal patterning. While a lot of people wouldn't have noticed that it wasn't quite right, I would have known.
(If you want to see the photo it's here: http://beafarhana.livejournal.com/pics/catalog/5969/113430)

So this afternoon, having come home from the night out with uni mates, I unpicked it, and started again, this time, using the proper methods, firstly to make the "herringbone" pattern double row of sequins and beads, and *then* adding the coin sequin dangles. It's a long-winded way of doing it, but it looks more right to me.

V2 - the definitive coin sequin dangle beading formation

I have to say, I'm liking the lime green sequin/little white pearl combo. It was something I just thought of on the spot, it wasn't in the original plans at all, but it works really well!

The good thing about them is that they've got a lot of movement!

The sequins are just plain old circles, but yes, they reflect the apples really well!

After I wrote 'apples' I thought...'Hmm, green cherries'?!

Either way, I love how it is coming along...those dangly sequins make it, mamma!

Oh, the fabric print? I see them as apples, but Wigglewhiz saw them as sour cherries.

Hence the name of the costume!

I still see cherries. ^_^ But I am LOVING the paillettes! It looks SCRUMPTIOUS and juicy as, much like our own Bea - so highly appropriate really.

If I had better bewbage, I would totally ask if I could buy this costume when you were done with it. ;o)
