JoY haul

JoY was fun, and a bit spendy, but not outrageously so.

The worst thing was that I broke my No More Fabric Rule! There was a guy there from Keighley market, and I got some black flowy lightweight lycra, and some beautiful soft chiffon in a sort of greyish leopard print. These two fabrics could possibly end up living together in the same costume. Or not... I have no definite plans for them yet. diva_c, next time I'm up your way, perhaps a visit to Keighley Market and also your local fabric shop would make a nice outing?

I also bought a pair of Saroyan Turkish zills. I did buy two baby pairs of Saroyan Minis, with the idea that some of my students might like to have good ones, rather than my horrid tinny loaners, so I can sell them on. However, if I don't sell them on, these will NOT become loaners.

And I bought a big stick with red & gold stripes. Now all I need is a red & gold Sa'aidi costume to go with it!

More JoY posting to follow...

ETA, but before that... the photo-evidence:

Firstly, the grey leopard print chiffon.
Leopard print chiffon
What you can't tell from the photo is how soft and drapey this chiffon is. It's going to make something beautiful and elegant.
Or possibly a mad khaligi dress.

And the full haul...

oooh, it is worth breaking the rules for! I can totally imagine it as flowing inserts in a skirt, draped or ruched around the hips, or as a loose fitting dress.

That leopard print is fabulous! Definitely worth bending a rule for. It's going to make one sexy something-or-other costume!
