New Job, the second week

Well there *is* a second week, which is a good thing. I'm starting to get some of the bothersome things that had been holding me back sorted out, like getting a phone log-in at last, and I'm starting to get some actual work done. I did a round of Annual Tutor Meetings, where I got to meet some of the tutors within my sphere of responsibility. I'm starting to get a handle on this. I've also found out that I was very much the preferred candidate of the person whose job I was taking, which is gratifying.

I know I haven't been posting much, mainly because I've had bugger all dance-related happening in my life, and it's always been a vague rule of mine that this blog is "Strictly Dancing". I guess I shouldn't really be talking about the new job, because it's only tangentially dance-related.

I think I've got my Ahwak choreography more or less sorted out for teaching next week. I've got a couple of small sections that I'll need to work out properly, but I've got "in principle" ideas for those bits, and I will get them tidied up before long. I'm going through my now-usual September "OMG, I've totally forgotten how to teach bellydance" panic-funk. I'm recognising that it is simply my usual panic, and of course I know how to teach bellydance- after all, I have been doing this for nearly 20 years, and it's not like the whole basis of bellydance suddenly changed during the summer hols. It will All. Be. Fine.

I am amazed that you have the energy to post, it being your second week at your new job! And I enhjoy reading your posts, both personal, work or dance related so don't hold back on my behalf :-)

It is comforting to read that you go through the 'OMG my brain is empty' thing too. Thought it was just me freaking out every new semester!
