Ballet

I'm really disappointed.

As part of my job, I have to plan the Dance curriculum for pretty much the whole of Surrey Adult Learning. My colleague who I job-share with, she organises three out of our seven centres, but there's only one set of dance classes in her centres, and I've got dance classes at all four of mine. Maybe it's just happy accident, maybe I've got more invested in getting dance out there than she is, because I'm a dance teacher (she's a yoga teacher).

I was really thrilled earlier this year, when I got one of our teachers, who hadn't done much teaching for us because there was not much call for Tap classes, to agree to teach ballet. I watched excitedly as the enrolments went up to five people, then to six - our magic viability target! Hooray, hooray! A viable class! So I email the teacher to let her know, only for her to email me back saying she'd told me some time ago that she couldn't teach it. The lying cow!!!! She had most certainly NOT told me. So now I've got a viable class and no blasted ballet teacher!

Damn! And I really wanted to try this class myself!

That stinks! Will you be able to run it with a different teacher?

I'm trying to, but I need to find a teacher. Not easy, when we pay pretty low (I don't have the discretion to change that), and people already have their commitments set up for the coming academic year.
