Giving in

I have just been putting away the rubbish from today's sewing. I picked up the remnant of the burgundy velour (actually, it's damson, officially) and was going to throw it away, to avoid tormenting myself with the possibility of making a bra to match the skirt. But I can't bring myself to bin it! It is big enough to use to cover a bra & belt easily.

So it's going to join the list of Costume Projects.

The list therefore looks like this:
1. White Baladi (in progress)
2. Turquoise (all the materials are in place, I'm good to go as soon as the White Baladi is done)
3. Hyacinth (I still need to acquire stuff for this, but it's a long way off, so I'm not allowed to get more materials till I'm nearer to starting it)
4. Mad Floral Print (nowhere near getting this one going)
5. Burgundy bra & belt to match the skirt & gauntlets

That little lot should keep me out of trouble for a while.

I'm proud of you, you now have a good start for a huge unfinished projects pile. :)

Also, I used the exact same burgundy velours ages ago for a matching skirt/top/gloves set, great minds think alike!

I'm quite proud of myself that I've actually started sewing costumes at all. Two years ago, even a year ago, I couldn't have.

I want to try to concentrate on just one costume project at a time, if possible. The burgundy skirt was an emergency requirement, but once I've finished hemming, a bit later this morning, I'll go back to the white baladi costume. I don't mind all those projects being unfinished so long as they're unstarted :D The thought of having three or four different sewing projects on the go at once scares me! Too disorganised and out of control!

I remember how you mentioned not doing costuming a couple of eyars ago, it's so much fun to see how you are really getting into it and doing a smashing job.

Good one on the unstarted thing, having a halfdone costume makes you feel more guilty then a costume you haven't started yet.
