Pondering the new additions to the stash!

I'm getting some ideas for the new fabric that I have acquired!

The black & silver stretch fabric is wide and plentiful, and half of me wants to make a big swooshy skirt bedlah out of it, and the other half wants to make a baladi dress. And I think it should be possible to do both. I would make the baladi dress first, to make sure I've got enough length in it, which would take up about 2 metres of it, and the rest would be enough to make a bra (which would go with the baladi dress), a belt and a skirt with godets, and accessories.

I'm still thinking about the red & white mesh. It's not the sort of stuff you can use all on its own (far too seethrough! Although that didn't seem to stop me with the white baladi) so I'm going to have to find some fabric to work with it. The red is a nice subtle brick red, so it may take a while to lay my hands on exactly the right shade, but I can be patient if I've got other things to sew in the meantime. I think it's going to be another bedlah, using the mesh for draping/ruching/as an accent. But then you wouldn't get to see the pattern of the fabric... Darn it! Maybe it will be another Baladi Dress after all! Oh well, plenty of thinking time for this one.

Oooooh! That sounds awesome!

I'm glad you have plans...I had plans too, but never got around to doing anything about them. I figured the fabric deserved to be made up and danced in! :)

I've just come back from the haberdashery on my street. You would literally squee all over the place with the amount of trimmings it has. Next time I'm there, I'll take photos. x

I probably would squee like a seven-year-old girl! I look forward to the piccies! However, be warned that I'd probably ask you to get me x metres of *that*, and y metres of *that* and z metres of *that*...
