Well bang goes that idea...

I am not on my way to Planet Egypt, after all. Boo!

I couldn't leave the studio bang on 8, because a couple of students had questions. Which meant I couldn't catch the train that would have arrived in London before 9 o'clock. Instead I was going to have to catch the train that would have got me in at 9.20, which in turn would have got me to PE just after 10.00.

But it turns out someone fell in front of a train earlier this evening, and my train was going to be delayed by at least 25 minutes, and the one after that was cancelled. There were two stopping trains, but they each take an hour to get into London. There wasn't a single train that could get me into London before 9.45. Which meant not getting to PE till 10.30.

So I made an executive decision that I really didn't want to hang around on a cold railway platform and then spend an hour and a half travelling on lovely public transport at night. Not for that little bit left of the evening.

Oh well, at least the class was good. But even then, there was a technical hitch whereby there was no sound coming from the stereo. Now, I know that my mp3 player was working, because there was sound coming out of its tiny weeny speaker. And I know my aux lead is working because I've just tested it on my speakers at home. So it looks like a problem with the studio's stereo. I was just about able to continue, with the small tinny sound (in a huge echoing studio!), that my player could produce. It wasn't ideal, by any stretch of the imagination, but at least it was something.
