A Christmas Make for December

I was supposed to have got this Make sorted out weeeeeeeks ago. But I am a Procrastinator Extraordinaire, and I have totally left it till Christmas Eve!

This is a present for Eldest Niece/God-daughter. I'm doing her Christmas Stocking this year, and I wanted to include something I made. So this is a pair of cheapo Primark gloves (£1 for 2 pairs, if I remember rightly, it might have been £2 for 2 pairs, but still dirt cheap), which I have glammed up with a bit of lazy daisy embroidery. Strictly speaking, I didn't exactly "make" them, but I reckon it still counts. It didn't take me long, and I'm thinking of doing something similar with the other pair which I'd kept for myself.

Embroidered gloves

I'm assuming that she doesn't read this!

On the general front of Craftiness, having been inspired by eollie, I got myself some tatting shuttles and I'm re-acquainting myself with the basic techniques. I'm a bit rusty, but it's coming back.

And now, I suppose I must get on with the gift-wrapping.

That's adorable!

I have become consumed with a plan to make a jackety thing based on a khaleegy dancing thobe. Knee length, and I'd best open it down the front with a couple of hooks, and very *sombre*. I crave something I can throw on in summer to protect me from the elements that isn't, you know, a burqa, and this could be it. Especially with contrast gussets. I could use the sleeve up over my head against the sun.
